The Deadthings - Who Killed Holly Would? (2005)
Producer: Self Produced
Author: Jorg
Rating : 9.5 points (Out of 10)

You have waited for the Album of the Year 2005?
Okay, it has taken some time, but waiting is over. Here it is the frist longplayer from Australians glam-Ghoul-Rockers The Dead Things. If you loved the “When hell sleazes over”-EP, you will also like “Who killed Holly Would?”, the Band stayed true to themselves. If you loved this unique band before, you will always love them. A true festival of Sleaze´n Glamrock is what you get here through the whole playing time. All Killers, no fillers. You start with the great “dead girlz don´t say no” and than you have that well known feeling in your stomach. You know what I mean, the feeling that you when you know you got the right thing in your hands. Every Song hits your glamorous heart ´n ear. With 4 Songs The Dead Things have sealed their Destiny. „I hate you“, „One way ticket to hell“, Six feet under“& „666 Wayz to die“ are such mighty highlights, that this band is for the Eternity holy spoken.

But the song that really knocks me out of my socks is the melodic song “Cemetary Mary”, such an awesome Love song with cool lyrics, dark and morbid. Yes, I really love this song and can’t get enough of it. Take a look into the Lyric-Sheet, here you find some really cool Lyrics. Dark and macabre, that’s the way how we love out lyrics.

Can you imagine that this band is still without a record deal, are the label-guys out there deaf bastard? Sure, they must. This band is a self seller; great gimmick, awesome songs and the guys have fantastic skills on their Instruments. The Production of this CD is well done, no noise guitars or lousy “St.Anger”ísch –Drumsounds, the Real Deal.

This great band around the outstanding singer Julian C. Mephisto has proved with “Who killed Holly would”, that they are the true Glam Slam Kings of Ghoul. With a band like The Dead Things in my mind, I’m not afraid that our beloved Sleaze´n Glam-Music is going to die.
What do you want more? Maybe a cool cover version of a Glamrock-classic, than check out what The Dead Things have made with Poison´s “Look what the cat dragged in”. You would like to see a video-Clip? Check out “Holly Would” in the CDR-Part. Go now to the Homepage of this great band and buy the brilliant new CD “Who killed Holly Would?”.
To close this review, I will use some Sample from the debut-EP:
